The Paintings of Kimberly Webber
The life-giving goddess, who has nourished the imagination and spirit of humanity since the birth of civilization, has been celebrated in various forms throughout the millennia. Just as the ancient pharaohs built temples to honor the sacred feminine, artist Kimberly Webber (b. 1969) of Taos, New Mexico, presents a path of love and healing in her paintings by reviving the feminine spirit to cultivate, feed, rejuvenate, and enliven. Webber’s works, which are exhibited and collected internationally, are a fusion of Eastern and Western painting traditions. The completed paintings are 70 to 100 layers of pure earth pigment, subtle color washes, and delicate oil glazes. Traditional materials, such as vine charcoal, powdered minerals, earth pigments, ink, and handmade oil formulas, produce paintings that are luminous and multidimensional. The result is an alchemical blending of materials, light, and intent that taps into our dreams, memories, hopes, and aspirations for a better future.
