About Sierra Club

America’s largest and best-known grassroots environmental organization, Sierra Club, is also its most effective. The Club’s 1.3 million members and supporters have helped to protect more than 250 million acres of wildlands, more than 12,000 miles of wild and scenic rivers, and many national treasures. The Club’s core activities are public education, grassroots activism, and lobbying for environmental issues. In addition, the Club has a well-developed and influential presence in book and magazine publishing, as well as in adventure travel, with over 20,000 outings per year. Sierra Club also has an extensive inner city outings program serving 15,000 disadvantaged youths and adults annually. |
