What Happened Here? London Knowledge Cards

London has accumulated millions of raucous and touching, scandalous and ennobling stories in its two thousand years. Some of those episodes were of more lasting resonance than others, and the concise essays in this deck of cards deal with events that have both prominent and obscure places in history. One side of each card features part of a London map, with a pointer to the location where a memorable event took place. The card’s other side yields an eclectic charivari of well- and little-known facts about the event’s circumstances, dnouement, and historic effects. There’s an additional pleasure to be found in these cards. Lay them out in four rows of twelve, and you have an elderly map of London.
